The 2015 AMC Engineering Conference is scheduled to take place between May 5 and May 7 in Waterloo, Ia., and it will begin with a self-guided tour of the John Deere Tractor and Engine Museum. The museum officially opened its doors in December 2014, and it highlights the history of the company’s tractor and engine design.

The 30th annual conference will be hosted at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention center in the downtown Waterloo area. More than 220 agricultural manufacturers are based in Iowa.

The 2015 AMC Engineering Conference features more than 40 exhibitors, aiming to help industry professionals exchange ideas and learn the latest, most efficient techniques. It has been hosted since 1986, and there will be more than 50 presentations exhibited this year.

The event will offer continuing education seminars that address topics such as compression spring materials, model based software development and mobile app development. Afterward, technical sessions will address everything from machine safety to drones and robotics.

The keynote speakers for the event are Russ Banham, author and business journalist; Charlie O’Brien, senior vice president and head of Ag Services at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers; and Jillian Beaty, agricultural education instructor from the Oregon School District.

Through the self-guided tour of the John Deere Tractor and Engine Museum, attendees will be able to see 19 tractors and six engines that detail the assembly behind John Deere machinery.
