YouGov, a global market research firm, has released its list of the most highly recommended (to friends and colleagues) brands, according to the 1,600 plus brands it tracks. On the list, John Deere came in fourth place.

The machinery company has been in good standing for years, as this is not the first time it has ranked on YouGov’s annual list. Just last year, John Deere came in seventh place on the list. Its rise to fourth place shows consumers’ growing trust in the reliability and reputation of the brand.

Typically, YouGov looks at about 1,500 major brands and creates a top 10 list, according to consumer recommendation levels. To come up with “Recommend” scores, respondents are asked, "Would you recommend the brand to a friend?" Scores are then filtered for adults 18 and over who are customers of the brand they are recommending.

A “Recommend” score can range from -100 to 100, with a zero score equaling a “neutral position.”

This is not the first award John Deere has won this year. Earlier in 2017, the company was recognized as one of the World’s Top 50 Most Admired Companies by Fortune Magazine.

"The Fortune Most Admired ranking is evidence that John Deere's 60,000 employees around the world remain focused each day on serving our customers and living our core values of integrity, quality, commitment, and innovation," said Samuel R. Allen, chairman and chief executive officer at Deere.
