Penn State has announced that its College of Agricultural Sciences will host the Ag Sciences Career Day on Oct. 10. Each year, the event is hosted to connect industry thought leaders and professionals with students who are interested in pursuing a career in agriculture. Approximately 200 exhibitors, recruiters, and academic program representatives typically attend the career day.

"Ag Sciences Career Day provides an invigorating forum to connect leaders in the agricultural sciences with top talent," said Lori Connelly, director of experiential learning and career services in the College of Agricultural Sciences. "This is an exciting time to work in the agricultural sciences, and the opportunities extend far beyond production agriculture."

This year, there will be more than 250 representatives on hand from agricultural businesses, government agencies and higher education institutions, such as Penn State Law, Cal Poly State University, and the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Students will be able to meet them throughout the event, which takes place between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus.

"Our goal is for this event to mutually benefit both the exhibitors and the students,” Connelly continued. “The opportunities in the agricultural sciences are vast, and our students are eager to contribute.”

More information on the event can be found on the Ag Sciences Career Day website or by contacting Lori Connelly by email at agcareerday@ag.psu.edu.
