The 2017 SC AgriBiz and Farm Expo is expected to draw farmers from around the South Carolina region that are eager to learn about the latest developments in agriculture.

The SC AgriBiz and Farm Expo, which is being sponsored in part by John Deere, is set to begin on Wednesday, January 11 and continue through Thursday, January 12. The event will be held at the Florence Civic Center in Florence, South Carolina, and more than 100 agricultural exhibitors are expected to be on hand.

“Our state is located within a 24-hour reach of 100 million people and we have a ready workforce,” said Hugh Weathers, South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture. “Companies want to invest where they can enhance their competitiveness and profitability. South Carolina is that place. The S.C. AgriBiz and Farm Expo will help spread the word.”

This year, there will be several educational exhibits dedicated to topics ranging from soil health to cover crops. There will also be sessions specifically dedicated to small farmers, crop insurance, and the economy as it applies to the agricultural industry.

Jody Martin, executive director of the event, told the Southeast FarmPress that the theme of this year’s show is “Efficiency on the Farm.” All of the sessions will be dedicated to improving efficiency in 2017, regardless of variables, such as weather and the environment.

Admission to the SC AgriBiz and Farm Expo is $5.00 per person, per day. Children are admitted for free with a parent. Online registration for ticketed events is now open.
