John Deere Mobile RTK Signal Now Available in North America

John Deere announced on April 11 that it has launched the John Deere Mobile RTK Signal in North America.

This device is designed to deliver repeatable RTK accuracy to a machine through a cellular connection. The launch of the John Deere Mobile RTK Signal marks an expansion of the company’s existing RTK differential correction offerings.

"Machines equipped with a StarFire ™ 3000 receiver and JDLink™ Connect-enabled Modular Telematics Gateway can now connect to a central server to receive the Mobile RTK Signal correction from a number of established networked RTK base stations," said Jarred Karnei, product marketing manager for John Deere.

The John Deere Mobile RTK Signal, which is supported by Leica Geosystems, eliminates the line-of-sight requirement to a single base station. As a result, operators in the field experience more accuracy and connection reliability.

Karnei went on to explain that customers using the Mobile RTK Signal will now have seamless roaming with no need to change network IDs for accuracy purposes.
