Jordan Spieth captured his second John Deere Classic title in a playoff with Tom Gillis.

After coming into this weekend’s 2015 John Deere Classic tournament as the favorite, golfer Jordan Spieth fulfilled predictions and stayed red hot with another win on Sunday.

To take home the trophy, Spieth won in a playoff against Tom Gillis. Both players had completed the final round at 20-under, with matching cumulative scores of 264. Spieth finished the second hole of the playoff with a par to secure his fourth victory of the season. Now, he will look ahead to The Open Championship, which could give him his fifth win of the year and extend his run at the elusive Grand Slam.

“To be able to shoot 20-under in three rounds is nice momentum," Spieth told the Associated Press. "The finish, when I really didn't feel like tee to green I had much (Sunday), gives me a lot of momentum to draw on if I don't have my best stuff.”

The event took place at TPC Deere Run, an 18-hole course in Silvis, Ill., located along Rock River.

Partnering Up for the Future
John Deere announced on July 7 that it would be extending its title sponsorship of professional golf through 2013. This comes on the heels of an extension developed between Deere & Company, the PGA Tour and the John Deere Classic.

"This sponsorship has significant impact in many important areas for John Deere," said James Field, president of the Worldwide Agriculture and Turf Division. "The agreement helps our company sell equipment, build relationships with customers and dealers, and promote the John Deere brand worldwide."
